Some of you know that I hostess at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Technically it’s a church service mission for the Public Affairs and Hosting Department of the church. Last Friday, as a special devotional, Elders M. Russell Ballard and Quentin L. Cook were invited to speak to us! (It makes sense because they are in charge of the Public Affairs for the church…) It was such a treat to be 100 feet away from them and hear them speak. Here are some of my favorite highlights...

* If Christ came tonight, to whom would He come?
* Our purpose is to help the spiritual condition of each person we meet.
* “If you have not chosen the Kingdom of God first, it will in the end make no difference what you have chosen instead.” –William Law
* “There is an answer to the passionate longings of the heart for fullness… live in all things outside yourself by love, and you will have joy. That is the life of God; it ought to be our life.” –Robert Browning

* Instead of worrying so much about getting the perfect gifts, give gifts that will leave memories.
* Never underestimate the power you have to cause someone to feel the power of the restoration.
* Reach out and touch others through your testimony and quiet acts of service.
* The star of Bethlehem is the only way to find happiness. Keep your eye on the star.

I really do love this gospel... there is only good in it!

And I'm so excited for this holiday season!

I didn't know you were a hostess there! When did this begin? How can I surprise you one day by showing up???!
