Memories

Last week a guy I went to high school with passed away in an tragic accident. I've spent a lot of time pondering how fragile life truly is.

Since his passing many people have been sending their favorite memories to his family for them to keep. Someone came up with the idea that we should do the same thing for each other... but while we're here to enjoy them together. I thought it was a fun idea. It's really simple, and just takes a few minutes.

So here's what you do: as a comment on my blog, leave a memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot; anything you remember!

And then if you'd like, post the same thing on your blog and enjoy the memories other people leave about you.

"God gave us memories so that we may have June roses in the December's of our lives."

Like you, some of my most vivid memories of us revolve around trying to figure out how we knew each other in Dunneback's class our sophomore year.

My other favorite memory that stems from you, however, comes from an email you sent me shortly after we'd all gone off to college. It was something about how you'd decided to join the red cross, don't try to stop me, I'm headed off... and here's a picture of the people I'll be working with... attached photo of a huge group of really hot, muscular guys. I laughed so hard, and decided to pass it along (it was a forward, after all), and sent it off to all my friends. I received a lot of "haha, that is so funny!" response emails, along with one serious one from a friend, saying "I am so proud of you! I've thought so much about doing the same thing... you are so amazing, good luck out there, I'll be praying for you..." and the like. It was so hilarious to me that someone thought I was serious! but I felt really bad when I had to explain the joke to her. And it was all your fault! :) Good times.

Listening to "Kiss the Girl" coming from your window while sitting on the steps in front of the dorms with Michael.

FICK-luh (FCCLA) and interior design. Especially the moments when we were makin' and paintin' crafty wood projects. What a way to prepare us for Enrichment night, eh? Not to mention countless good times in choir.

How about the unforgettable shout of "Mer-Dith!" Ha Ha! I always thought that was funny. Or how about the 6:30 am PLT meetings we were SUPPOSED to have, but rarely did? The countless hours spent talking an goofing around- rather than PLT'ing!

My favorite memory was when we were in the play together (Cinderella) and we were both step sisters and the part when we flew in with the invisible strings on our backs was really cool too! That was funny when the stage fell down when we were bowing and how everyone wanted us to get Prince Charming over Cinderella. Good times...

So many to choose from!!! The first word that came to mind was - POKE!!! Also all of the wonderful memories of choir. Remember that time we had a sub, and didn't sing. I was working on my child development homework, and I cut my finger with the scissors. You walked with me to the office to wash it off and get a band-aid. You acted like I was going to die!! Also singing "Hero" on the way to Senior Dinner Dance. "Would you tremble, if I touched your RIBS?" There are so many more, but I don't have the space, so those are my faves!! I hope we have many more to come!

Hmmmmmm.....

Since our meetings have been so few I can't say any one of them was a favorite (although you and John Moore coming over was pretty fun).

I think my favorite memories of you will always be in our constant (until recently because you suck and haven't written me back) emails. I have grown through our relationship (which is on stand still because you don't write back) and I love hearing about your loves, triumphs, failures, worries, etc.....(which I am completely unfamiliar with right now because you haven't written in such a longgggggg time).

That is what I will always remember about you (unless through your ABSENT emails my brain gets foggy and I am no longer able to recollect who you are or that we ever where in correspondence)!

Love ya!

My favorite memories are in high school and when you would do that gangsta walk and say "Word to your Mutha" Those were the great times and being in choir together was so much fun. It was nice knowing someone in high school that was my heighth.

One of my all time favorite memories was skipping around the entire JSA for no good reason at all! We had so much fun doing something completely stupid. I hope we get to hang out again once I'm back in Utah.

Wow, too many to think of! A couple come to mind...

1. Your interpretive dance number
2. Going on walks with Shanda and Cami
3. You teaching us to "slyly" move other people's forks and such around while eating dinner
4. Teaching Sister Pinegar the WORM!!!

Oh too many memories, Beckster. I have a few favorites though.
-Our lunch at Chilis before my big move
-When you, Ash, and Hillary came to meet all us newbies in the dorms and you were SO nice
-Leaving work to go in my car and talk to you about certain boy problems
-Of course pulling together the ND Reunion and having so much fun with it, and then forgetting to get a picture of us together after all was said and done.

You're the best!
