Cookies

Last night I had a craving for Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. I didn't have a single craving while I was pregnant (which was a pretty big disappointment to me!) so I decided I should definitely answer this craving!

So this morning Eliza and I made cookies. (See her in there?)
She was a champ at helping me do the measuring.
(I can neither confirm nor deny that I pose my child for pictures.)

The result? Well, they looked pretty nasty (I can never seem to make cookies look good!; I wish I knew the secret!), but they filled the craving nonetheless. :)

Yes, 'cause I'm sure Eliza just up and picked up the measuring spoon herself. Love oatmeal cookies. I've found using half shortening half butter (or margarine) usually does the trick for me to keep my cookies from going flat. I'm not sure if that was your problem or not. They look yummy to me!

You wore her out with all that measuring! Nothing a cookie can't fix....

LOL So fun!! :)

Side note, oatmeal is great for increasing milk production. I always tell mom's who worry about that to make oatmeal raisin cookies. Something about a baby that is nearing her first growth spurt is making this even more silly. Don't mind me. I'm sleep deprived. :)

I know what you mean about trying to make cookies look good...I don't know the secret either. But what would you rather have a cookie that tastes good, or a cookie that looks good?

Yay for making cookies! Often times, just being able to take a shower is a major accomplishment.

When my cookies come out looking flat I have to add extra flour to the dough. Sometimes it might only be 1/4 cup, but other times it can be almost an extra cup. P.S. Your daughter is beautiful!

You have such great friends that comment on your posts! 12 comments in two days! I might have gotten 12 comments in the last 2 years and most of them were from you! Eliza is beautiful. Jana is leaving tonight for Egypt and Israel. Did you get one of those Bethlehem blankets? Do you know the ones I'm talking about? Did you get my comment that I ran into Tobi at Kinkos here!?

I can never make homemade cookies look good either. The taste is the important part right!? Way to start her out early on learning to cook!
