Project: Onesie Extender

I have a long child.
As a result, many onesies don't fit her. See below.

(yes, I let my child play with garbage.) (often, in fact.)

So I created a ONESIE EXTENDER! (insert trumpet sounds here!)

I made it from a onesie that was pretty badly stained up the back so I didn't feel bad cutting it up. :) It is DEFINITELY not the pretties thing and I was actually quite amazed at its ugliness, but it works and it doesn't show once she's fully dressed so it is just perfect!

Hooray for no scrunched body!!!

And here she is. All dressed and pressed and ready to go. (can any of you name where that is from?)
And one last pic of her goofy mouth! She is constantly playing with her mouth and tongue!

Good work! I'm impressed. My kids are super short, so this never even occurred to me.

PS. I let my kids play with garbage too. Crinkly noisy stuff is the best.

that's hilariously awesome becky! we used abigail's onesies forever, and just stopped buttoning them up, just tucked them into her pants. they grow too fast to buy clothes every month!

Nice work! Do you get the feeling this is just the beginning of your tailoring concerns for her?

Becky, I LOVE this idea!!! You're so creative. This may seem silly, but can I feature this post on the craft blog I contribute to?? We are supposed to feature someone each month; I would LOVE to use this for March if you're okay with it! Let me know because I'll have to e-mail you a few things. Thanks!

Um... pure genius. And that outfit is to die for. Well, the fact that she's in it helps. She is the CUTEST!!

I only know "dressed and pressed" is from Mary Poppins becuase its Levi's favorite movie and its on at least once, if not twice, a day. I might just have to pull a Mary Poppins themed 2nd birthday out of my hat.
Way to make good use of your skills! I've seen people do that to make pants fit, but that's not typically a problem with babies. Nice work.

Such a good idea! I always wanted to invent some way to make onesies easier to get off when the little ones poop all up the back, I should have been proactive and done it! She is so cute all dressed up!

http://www.thisandthatcreative.com/ is the link to the site I am one of the authors for. I write for them every Friday. I'll feature this AWESOME idea the fourth Friday in March. :) I'll be sure to send you the formal e-mail and such when I get home (you get to write a little bio about yourself, include a picture if you want, etc.).

That's was a great idea! But if you don't want to cut up any more onesies you can buy onesie extenders on amazon, they might even sell them at target. Gerber makes them and others brands too.

Nice job! I too never saw the point of buying those extenders, they are so easy to make! It sure is nice when clothes last a little longer :)

Wow!! What a great invention! I wish I would have been smart enough to come up with something like that for Jax, he is super tall too!
